Promoting the Sport of Eventing in the State of Indiana
Leg-Up Schooling Horse Trials
The Leg-Up Schooling Horse Trials are a single-day mini event organized by the Indiana Eventing Association. This show is held at Hoosier Horse Park in Edinburgh, IN and typically runs over the same course as the IEA Horse Trials from earlier in the year. Leg-Up is geared for lower level riders or green horses with divisions from Tadpole through Novice. Some years, a Training division is offered.
The Leg-Up Horse Trials has been a long-held event by the Indiana Eventing Association and we’re proud to offer a schooling show option for riders and horses at the lower level with a feel of a recognized show. Dressage, stadium and XC are all held in the same complexes at the Hoosier Horse Park as the two USEA recognized horse trials.
The Vibe
The Leg Up Horse Trials are usually held on the first Sunday in July. It is not only a great way to affordably be introduced to the sport of eventing, but also a inviting place to compete your horse at a new level. The XC courses are typically a repeat of the IEA Horse Trial courses (held a month prior), which means jumps will be at a recognized height and feature ditches, banks and water as appropriate for the level. If you’re not ready for cross country, the show usually offers a Combined Test option as well.
